Cooking with Chef Bond in New Orleans... A foodie memory...

Chef Bond

Chef Bond & Elisse
We just learned, very sadly, that Chef Richard Bond of the Mardi Gras School of Cooking and Catering passed away... Chef Dan and I spent a wonderful day with him in his beautiful 140 year old home in Point Algiers, New Orleans in 2016, just two, short years ago, taking a cooking class; he was so much fun and the day was great- full of delicious food and wine and laughter... We took his "Roux Class" (which is still given), and made Gumbo (with a dark roux), an Ettoufee (with a light roux), and Chocolate Bread Pudding with Brandy Mocha Sauce...  The The Mardi Gras School of Cooking and Catering is now run by his trained associates, and I'm sure it's still great, but we are SO glad we got to enjoy that day of cooking with Chef Bond! May he rest in peace...
